'Liverpool Look Set To Easily Surpass 20 Year Old Premier League Record

Liverpool look set to break Manchester United's record of winning the Premier League at the earliest part of the year, a record that has stood since 2001.

Jurgen Klopp's team have been in absolutely incredible form this season and have been completely untouchable in the league to date.

After 23 games they've won 22 and drawn just once, leaving them 16 points clear of champions Manchester City in second place and with a game in hand, and are romping to a first league title in over 30 years.

Such is their dominance that should both they, City and Leicester City continue to pick up points at the same rate they have all season so far then they would win the league on March 16th.

If they manage that then they'll absolutely smash United's record from the 2000/01 season, their third title in-a-row, when they won the title on April 14th.

That season Sir Alex Ferguson's side 'only' won the title by 10 points, which would be seen as a surprise for Liverpool at this point, when they beat Coventry 4-2 on the same day second place Arsenal lost 3-0 to Middlesbrough.

Should things go as they have so far this season then Klopp's side would win the title away to local rivals Everton but if one of their rivals goes on a sudden run then the Reds' could still break United's record.

If Liverpool continue win all their games, and Pep Guardiola's team do the same, then the Merseyside team would actually wrap up the title away at the Etihad on April 4th, should they win the 'six pointer.'

Even if they got to that match against City and suffered their first defeat than Liverpool would still have the chance to break the record a week later against Aston Villa.

Manchester City's record of 100 points is also in danger of going this season with the Anfield outfit needing just eleven more wins from the next 15 games to surpass the mark.

Arsenal fans will also be worrying that their Invincible season from 2003/04 is about to be matched, and Liverpool are likely to have less than 12 draws to their name should they manage it.

It's been an incredible season to date for Liverpool, just how much better can it get?
