Ed Woodward was the subject of most Manchester United fans' ire on Wednesday night, after the club's loss to Burnley, and one fan gave him the ultimate insult on live television.
There was little doubt who United fans blamed for the 2-0 defeat to Burnley at Old Trafford, whilst they sang support for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Glazer family and Woodward's names were sung alongside insults and chants to get them out.
One fan took his anger even forward by interrupting a live interview on foreign television to call Woodward a c**t, the ultimate insult.
Woodward took over the transfer responsibilities at the club in 2013 when David Gill left the club the same summer Sir Alex Ferguson retired, and other than a few bright spots he has come in for major criticism.
In the past year Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have both left without a midfielder being brought in to replace them whilst Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have also departed with only Daniel James in attacking positions to replace them.
With Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford all out injured for lengthy spells the lack of recruitment from Woodward has been put under a huge spotlight.
United fans were heard to be singing "Build a bonfire, build a bonfire, put the Glazers on the top, put Ed Woodward in the middle and burn the f***ing lot," during the match.
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Ian Dennis criticised the fans for the chant. Speaking live on commentary Dennis said, "I've got to say, the chanting from the Manchester United supporters is an absolute disgrace.
"Regardless of your opinion of Ed Woodward you cannot ask for someone to die.
"If you want to be anti the board then sing 'sack the board', but for those individuals who are singing that about a human being is an absolute outrage."
Unless things turn around soon at Old Trafford, starting with a couple of signings before the end of the transfer window, it's unlikely the unsavoury chanting towards the higher ups at the club will stop.
Should United replace Woodward?
