Paul Scholes thinks Paul Pogba returning to the Manchester United squad will not help them as he claims the Frenchman will be too focused on leaving the club.
Pogba has been blighted by injury issues this season and made two appearances in December before suffering another injury lay-off.
Many believe that his return to the United squad would hugely benefit them, but club legend Scholes believes otherwise.
He told Premier League Productions per Manchester Evening News following United's 2-0 defeat to Burnley at Old Trafford:
"I don't think Pogba is on his way back [from injury] and even if he is on way back, he'll be moaning about something else to try and not play - try to get his move away from the club.
"We keep going on about the players that are missing but that squad of players, that team tonight, should be enough to beat Burnley. I fear for the next four-or-five weeks because I don't think any of them players are coming back quickly.
"I don't think McTominay is coming back. Marcus Rashford is looking like being out for three months."
The former England international went on to defend manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and says the next few weeks will be challenging for the 'Red Devils'.
"He [Solskjaer] is stuck with these players for the next six weeks and he has got to somehow coach these players and work these players to get a bit of confidence back.
They need to try and get some results - they've got some hard games in the next few weeks. This is a really tough time for them."
Pogba has only played eight times for United this season and the World Cup winner's agent Mino Raiola hasn't been shy on his desires to leave Manchester.
"I expect my players to be happy and I expect the clubs to be happy," Raiola told broadcasters after an Association of Football Agents meeting in London on Wednesday.
"If both parties are not happy there are other ways to resolve it but that is not the way to talk today.
"I don't want to work in front of what will be happening in the summer. He needs to get fit then it is my job to get both parties happy if possible.
"I don't say anything for sure. Only one thing is for sure in life. One day, you die. Today he is not happy because he is not playing. But he went back to Man United when a lot of people didn't think he would. People forget that."
United are currently in fifth place and six points off a Champions League spot.
