Liverpool might go the entire season without losing a single Premier League game but Roy Keane doesn't think they can be considered a great team yet.
The Reds are well clear at the top of the Premier League table and look likely to wrap up the title in April, which they could do by beating Manchester City at Anfield.
With Jurgen Klopp's side unbeaten so far this season many are starting to believe that they could better Arsenal's Invincibles, Manchester United's Treble winners and Manchester City's 100 point earners, but Roy Keane doesn't think they can be considered 'great' just yet.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's game against Manchester United the former United captain told Sky Sports, "Liverpool a great team? Everyone's getting carried away because they've been brilliant. This will be their first league title. You've got to win a few league titles. Last year? They finished second, second is no good. Do me a favour, pat on the back."
Liverpool certainly could go down as one of the best single season teams in the league's history and break all sorts of records on the way to their first title in over 30 years.
On top of that Klopp's team have also been in two Champions League finals in-a-row, won one and also won the European Super Cup and FIFA World Club Cup.
Even their near miss in the title race last season shouldn't be completely dismissed considering they finished on 97 points.
In the game Liverpool proved how much better than their rivals they currently are and dominated the first 45 minutes.
Virgil van Dijk put the league leaders ahead from a corner, with Brandon Williams inexplicably marking the centre back and being out muscled for the ball.
Roberto Firmino thought he'd doubled the lead but Van Dijk was adjudged to have fouled David de Gea in the build up and Georginio Wijnaldum also had the ball in the back of the net but he was offside.
Liverpool might not be a great time yet but it won't be long before Keane has to change his mind, and they're certainly a damn sight better than United.
