Romagnoli 'very attached to Milan and fully intends to stay' amid Barca links

AC Milan centre-back Alessio Romagnoli fully intends to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri, according to a report.

In addition to Gigio Donnarumma, the renewal of captain Alessio Romagnoli has also been put on hold. Mino Raiola had started positive talks with Zvonimir Boban but the departure of the Croatian director risks affecting Milan a lot, per Calciomercato.com.

The defender is expecting a pay rise in the new contract, with which currently on a €3.5m-a-year-deal. Furthermore, the deadline would be extended by two years from 2022 to 2024, but the report claimed it is unlikely to be that straightforward with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona reportedly interested.

However, the same outlet are now reporting that the 25-year-old has no doubts about his future, as he is very attached to Milan and fully intends to renew his contract.

This is of course fantastic news for Milan, as securing the renewal of their captain would of course mean avoiding another Donnarumma saga.
