'Ronaldinho's All Time Champions League XI Is A Thing Of Beauty

Ronaldinho's Champions League XI really is made up of some all time legends, with the side having won the European title 18 times between them but with no room for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Barcelona star is one of the most iconic players in the competition's recent history, for his goal against Chelsea if nothing else, and the competition with Barcelona in 2006.

Back in 2015 he was asked what his all time XI from the competition was and at the time a front three of fellow Brazilian Ronaldo, and two other fellow former Barca stars Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry meant there was no room for Juventus' own Ronaldo.

There's a good chance that if the 40-year-old was to pick a team now that former Manchester United winger Ronaldo would make the team.

Since the original selection the five time Ballon d'Or winner has gone on to win the trophy on three more occasions, when Real Madrid became the first team in the Champions League era to win the title three years in-a-row.

Not only that but the 35-year-old is now the competitions lead goal scorer of all time, having notched up 128 goals in the Champions League, putting him 14 clear of rival Messi.

Ronaldinho has had a long time to think about a current Champions League XI, if that's how he wants to spend time, having recently been in prison in Paraguay.

The former PSG man was arrested after allegedly entering the South American country with false papers, and had to spend his 40th birthday in prison.

He was set free from behind bars and put under house arrest recently.

According to a recent report, UEFA could be set to finish this season's Champions League and Europa League in a three week block in August, with the competition having been paused half way through the last 16 round.

The end of this season's tournament is likely to be played behind closed doors.
