A fan has put together a detailed thread featuring a whole host of greats showering Paul Scholes with praise.
The Manchester United legend was disrespected by former Premier League midfielder Curtis Woodhouse, who branded him "overrated" and noted that Scholes did not win the club's Player of the Year award in his glittering stint at Old Trafford as well as never making the PFA Team of the Year.
in 19 seasons at Manchester United Paul Scholes never won the clubs player of the year award. Gabriel Heinze, Javier Hernandez and Antonio Valencia did. Steven Gerrard in the same period won every PFA award available, voted by his fellow professionals.

In his 19 years at Manchester United Paul Scholes won player of the month 4 times 👍🏽

Scholes was never ever voted into the PFA team of the year. It’s voted for by the players of every team competing in the league that year. To be respected by your fellow professionals as the best is the highest accolade. Steven Gerrard hold the record of being voted in 8 times

Naturally it sent social media into overdrive - but it's now brought about this thread from @utdBrett dispelling the myth that Scholes wasn't all that special.
It has insight from a plethora of Scholes' United and England colleagues, who are all in agreement that he's the best player they've played with.
Of course his long-time Sir Alex Ferguson concurs, but the thread is also complied with quotes from legendary players who came up against him such as Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Andrea Pirlo and Xavi, who all speak incredibly highly of his abilities.
One would think they are in a better place to assess Scholes' talent than a bloke who played four times in the Premier League and retired aged 26 to become a boxer.
