Man Utd 'have sent scouts several times to watch Juve midfielder Rabiot'

Manchester United have reportedly watched Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on several occasions this season as they weigh up a bid for the Frenchman, according to reports in Italy.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly views the central midfield area as a position that needs reinforcing in the summer.

And according to Tutto Mercato, United scouts have attended four of the Serie A side's Champions League fixtures this season to run the rule over Rabiot.

The 25-year-old featured in both group-stage matches against Lokomotiv Moscow, and started the away win against Bayer Leverkusen and the 1-0 defeat in Lyon.

And despite struggling to make an impact in Italy after arriving on a free from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, the report claims Rabiot is 'one of the most followed players' by Premier League teams.

The report comes amid Solskjaer's search to find a long-term midfield partner for January signing Bruno Fernandes, with Paul Pogba's future at the club increasingly uncertain.

The latest rumours regarding Pogba suggest Inter Milan could emerge as frontrunners for his signature.

Pogba has struggled to settle since his £89million return from Juventus in 2016 and has been been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain as well as his former club.

But Juventus chief Fabio Paratici believes Pogba will struggle to find a team that will meet his wage demands in a post-coronavirus transfer market.
