Tottenham could sign Southampton midfielder Hojbjerg in summer (Telegraph)

Tottenham are considering a bid for Southampton midfielder Hojbjerg.

During the closing days of the January transfer window, Spurs were linked with an approach for the Denmark international, whose contract at St Mary's expires in 2021.

While the Saints were not interested in a sale midway through the season, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic could result in a change of stance.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs may look to sign the 24-year-old later in 2020, providing that it does lead to further financial issues.

Spurs have lost out on significant revenue from the hiring out of their stadium, with multiple NFL games and Anthony Joshua's next fight all being postponed.

When also taking their current lack of cash flow into consideration, it has allegedly resulted in the possibility of Jose Mourinho having to target free transfers during the next window.
