Werner's price 'set to drop to €50m' without league title as Inter join race

Inter join race for Timo Werner whose price could drop to €50m if RB Leipzig don’t win the Bundesliga, but the Nerazzurri face competition from Liverpool for the German international.

The San Siro outfit have allegedly targeted Werner as the ideal replacement should Lautaro Martinez move to Barcelona this summer.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, his release clause will drop from €60m to €50m if the club doesn’t win the League this year.

Die Roten Bullen are currently third in the German Bundesliga, trailing leaders Bayern Munich by five points, and are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

But the newspaper points out that Liverpool, who are coached by the 24-year-old’s compatriot Jürgen Klopp, are prepared to fight the Nerazzurri for the Germany international’s signature.
