Tanguy Ndombele's time at Tottenham Hotspur could already be over, with the midfielder reportedly falling out with Jose Mourinho and telling the manager he no longer wants to play for him.
Last summer Ndombele was hot property with the Frenchman linked with the likes of Barcelona and PSG before making his move from Lyon to Spurs for a club record fee of €62 million but things haven't gone according to plan, especially since Mourinho took over.
The manager has criticised the midfielder on several occasions and the relationship reached a new low on Monday after a falling out during training.
According to ESPN, after a disagreement on the training pitch Ndombele visited the manager in his office and told him he no longer wished to play for the two time Champions League winner.
The report claims that the 23-year-old was feeling good about his relationship with the manager following lockdown where Mourinho had told him to get in better shape and lose weight.
Ndombele and Mourinho even broke the lockdown guidelines during a training session in the park, which the manager later apologised for.
Despite thinking things were getting better for him, the manager reportedly told the player that he is 'not ready to start' and 'not doing enough in training.'
The former Amiens player has been an unused substitute in both of Spurs' games since returning to action, as they drew with Manchester United and struggled until late on against West Ham.
The player's two agents are now looking for resolutions to the issue but reportedly the player has no interest in clear the air talks, meaning a transfer could be on the cards.
Ndombele could once again be of interest to either PSG or Barcelona, though neither club would be willing to spend big on him right now so a loan deal, with option to buy, potentially on the cards.
However Bayern Munich might be a better option for everyone, with the Bundesliga champions apparently ready to sign the player and use Corentin Tolisso, who they are hoping to sell, as part of the deal.
In less than a year it looks like Ndombele has gone from a brilliant piece of business by Mauricio Pochettino to a player with no future in North London with Mourinho.
It's not the first time Jose has done something similar, it's unlikely to be the last.
