Manchester United are eyeing up a sensational swoop for Kingsley Coman should their deal for Jadon Sancho collapse, according to reports.
Sancho, 20, remains United's primary target for the summer window and the Red Devils have been pushing for a deal that would bring him to Old Trafford.
But the two clubs remain at a standoff over the hefty transfer fee for Sancho, who Dortmund value at a whopping £108m.
The Daily Mail now reports that United are prepared to walk away from a Sancho deal if the two clubs 'cannot reach a compromise' over the transfer fee.
And the newspaper added that the Red Devils have a 'list of alternative targets,' which includes Bayern Munich star Coman.
Coman has made 35 appearances for Bayern in the 2019-20 season and scored seven times and registered seven assists.
The France international could be tempted with an exit from Bayern after the Bundesliga champions signed Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
Dortmund have set an 'artificial deadline' of 10th August for United to complete any deal for Sancho.
The German club's deadline date is to ensure a deal can happen before Lucien Favre's men head for their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
However, it would seem a Sancho deal is far from being done after Hans-Joachim Watzke issued a damning update on the transfer speculation.
The Dortmund CEO told German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung: "So far, there has been no contact between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in terms of Sancho.
"Also not indirectly or through alleged intermediaries."
