'Manchester United ‘Agree Five-Year Contract’ With FC Porto’s Alex Telles

By Mike Parrott

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to sign Alex Telles from FC Porto for £18 million. United narrowly missed out on Sergio Reguilon and have decided to go all-in on their backup option.

Manchester United have had a transfer window to forget.

After missing out on the likes of Gabriel, Thiago Alcantara, Sergio Reguilon, and Gareth Bale, the Red Devils's luck might be turning.

This comes after United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Alex Telles from FC Porto for a fee believed to be around £18 million. The Brazilian will sign a five-year-deal with the Manchester club.

According to sources, Telles has been offered numerous times to United by his agent, Pinhas Zahavi, and with their ambition to attain a left-back after the failure of signing Reguilon, Telles will be a good addition to the Red Devils.

Telles, 27, has spent the past four years in Portugal, scoring 22 goals and creating 55 assists in 191 games.

The Brazilian is well-known for his set-piece prowess and crossing, which will increase United's crossing with their current full-backs of Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka lacking in that department.

The left-back will join Donny Van De Beek as United's only signings done in the summer transfer window so far. The Red Devils are still known to be in negotiations to sign English winger, Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
