'Manchester United Concedes Penalty After Disastrous Calls From VAR

Manchester United have conceded their second goal against Crystal Palace, however, the second goal was one of the most shambolic decisions made by referee Martin Atkinson and VAR.

Even though VAR was supposed to crack down on refereeing errors, Manchester United fans and neutrals will think otherwise after today's events.

This comes after Manchester United conceded their second goal of the game against Crystal Palace in one of the most bizarre moments in the history of VAR.

With United chasing an equaliser, Palace started to play on the counter which seemed to be easily nullified by Victor Lindelof. However due to the ball striking his hand outside of his "natural silhouette", a penalty was given.

Gary Neville who was commentating on the game for Sky Sports said that the Lindelof "handball" should' not have stood and it was a natural movement with no chance for Lindelof to move his hands out of the way.

Gary Neville: “Never in a million years. I’ll be amazed if he gives it. Oh my god. Not a chance. Not a chance. He has not got a clue - there is no way he [Lindelof] can mean to stop that - it’s a natural movement.” #MUFC

Jordan Ayew stepped up to take the penalty and was easily saved by David De Gea to only keep the score within one goal.

Then again, VAR had something to say about it. When watched on highlights, you can see De Gea's feet less than a few centimetres off the goal line, deeming another penalty to be taken.

Up stepped Wilfried Zaha who easily slotted the penalty.
