'Wolves New Third Kit Proves They're Basically Just The Portugal National Team

Wolves have brought out their new third kit for this season and the large Portuguese contingent of players are going to feel right at home.

Since Wolves were taken over by the Fosun Group in 2016 there's been an ever rising Portuguese feeling to the west Midlands side, due to the owners friendship with super agent Jorge Mendes.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santos and nine of his squad are from Portugal, and there's also two Portuguese speaking Brazilians in the squad.

Now the club have taken a step closer to becoming the Portuguese national team with the release of their latest kit, all they need now is Cristiano Ronaldo to move to Molineux.

This summer alone Espirito Santos has added two fellow countrymen to his squad, with young forward Fabio Silva joining from Porto for £36 million and midfielder Vitinha joining on loan from the same club.

Between all the Wolves' Portugal contingent they have 231 caps for the national team, although 210 of those belong to just Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho.

Wolves transfer tactics have worked so far, as their link up with Mendes has seen them get promoted from the Championship back to the Premier League, as champions, before finishing seventh in their two seasons in the top tier so far.

Last season they also reached the quarter finals of the Europa League, although they haven't qualified for Europe this season.

They started the 2020/21 campaign with an impressive 2-0 away win against Sheffield United on the opening weekend but followed that up with a loss to Championship side Stoke City in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.
