Former Leicester City defender Marcin Wasilewski has been backed to make the switch from football to MMA following retirement.
Wasilewski helped the Foxes to a legendary Premier League title win in 2015/2016, making four appearances before moving to Wisła Krakow in his native Poland in 2017.
He retired earlier this month and at aged 40 as a big fan of MMA, he could be ready for the next step in his sporting career.
Polish fight promoter Mateusz Borek explained per The Sun: "I know Marcin's sporting career is not yet over.
"I think one of the MMA organisations will convince him to enter the cage.
"I know that this has always been Marcin's dream."
One potential opponent is fellow ex-pro Blazej Augustyn who had spells at Bolton Wanderers and Hearts.
"People have said it would be a good fight between him and Blazej Augustyn."
It would be a remarkable step for Wasilewski, who suffered a serious leg injury while playing for Anderlecht earlier in his career.
"I have respect for his entire career, and the way he overcame his fate," Borek continued.
"To rise up again after what an opponent did to him in the Belgian league deserves a world title."
Wasilewski didn't get a medal for Leicester's league title win but he is still regarded as a cult hero at the King Power.
Another former Premier League star made a foray into other sports last year - with Petr Cech trying his hand at ice hockey.

Cech turned out as a semi-professional player for Guildford Phoenix and he paid tribute to former sides Chelsea and Arsenal, by having the club's crests on his helmet.
The shot stopper still works in football as Chelsea's technical advisor and is even in the Blues' Premier League squad list for this season.
