Wolves target Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic as replacement for Raul Jimenez

Wolves are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid's out-of-favour striker Luka Jovic as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bolster his options up front.

According to The Athletic, Wolves have made an enquiry for the 23-year-old, who was supposed to lead the line for Los Blancos for years to come when they bought him for £55million in June 2019 from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Serbian has never settled in Madrid, scoring just twice in 27 appearances last season, with Karim Benzema continuing to be their go-to man.

A move to the West Midlands could be beneficial for both Jovic and Wolves, with their usual frontman Raul Jimenez out for an extended period of time after he fractured his skull against Arsenal on November 29.

Wolves have struggled for goals in the league this season, scoring just 14 times in as many matches. Jimenez and Pedro Neto are their leading goal scorers with four strikes apiece.

AC Milan have also shown interest in Jovic, and are believed to be interested in a six-month loan deal for the striker.
