Ings' contract has 18 months left on his contract but is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with Southampton, with the former Liverpool forward reportedly seeking Champions League football.
Tottenham Hotspur have been most persistently linked with the 28-year-old, although manager Jose Mourinho recently sought to tamper down any speculation by saying he is happy with his attacking options.
With the rumour mill in full swing, Semmens said he had no intention of selling Ings, who has a strong relationship with Southampton.
'The conversations have gone on and we have had talks with Danny, they've been 100 per cent professional,' Semmens told BBC Radio Solent.
'Danny is very happy here, he wants to stay with the club and we have enjoyed having him.'
Semmens also sought to quash any talk of money being the issue, with Ings reportedly set to become Southampton's highest-paid player if he signs a new deal.
'Money is 100 per cent not the issue,' he said. 'Danny has put us under no pressure to provide finances that we are not comfortable with. Those rumours are not true.'
Ings has been exceptional for Southampton so far this season, bagging seven goals in 13 Premier League games and also providing three assists. Semmens said continuing his electric form is all the England forward is focusing on.
'Danny is focused on playing games for us and does not want to talk about his future contract. I think people forget that they are humans,' Semmens said.
'He has a contract with us for 18 months and he will be with us for that time and we will sit down and talk about the future at some time before then.
'There are no issues. I know everybody is looking for a story but he has a contract with us and we hope he will stay beyond that.'
