Armando Broja is plotting Albania's first World Cup qualification and has no regrets about snubbing England at international level, as the Chelsea striker gears-up to face the Three Lions.
The 19-year-old is one of the west Londoners' top prospects after a prolific season for the Blues' academy last season, earning a loan move Dutch side Vitesse where he's continued to thrive.
Broja was born in Slough and could have joined the army of young talent knocking on Gareth Southgate's door. Instead, he's aiming to cause an upset in Tirana when England visit on Sunday.
'It is a big decision, of course, when you choose your country to play for,' Broja told Goal.
'I went for it because I have got Albanian blood in me, I am Albanian, my parents are Albanian so it was an easy decision.
'I thought I would love to make the people there proud and make my parents proud. I wanted to lift Albania up as a country to get us to the World Cup or Euros. That's the biggest thing for them.
'If we got to the World Cup, it would be crazy and we would make history. We have never got there before so it would be something crazy as a country, you know.
'I have a lot of family in Albania and I visited there every year so it is really a big part of my life.'
The six-foot-two forward came on as a late substitute in his nation's opening World Cup qualifier, beating Andorra 1-0 to keep pace with England on three points in Group I.
Broja will earn his fifth international appearance if he takes part against the Three Lions, and will hope to bag a memorable first goal.
