Is Itumeleng Khune on the verge of leaving Kaizer Chiefs?
The news of Itumeleng Khune and Kaizer Chiefs possibly going separate ways continue to gain momentum.
Fresh reports suggest that Khune could be lost to South African football next season with Qatar reported to be his next destination.
According to a Phakaaathi source, Khune’s new representative is working around the clock to secure a move abroad for the star goalkeeper.
“Khune is not keen on staying on at Chiefs. He is under a new business manager, who is making things happen for him,” said the source.
“He could be playing in Qatar next season if things go according to plan.
“In fact, I believe he may have signed a pre-contract by now with a team in Qatar, but I don’t have the full details like the club’s name yet,” added the source.
The news come a few days after it was reported that Khune could leave Amakhosi as he was yet to be offered a contract extension.
Khune’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June.
Khune has been with Chiefs since he was 12-years-old, and he was promoted to the senior team in 2004.
He became an instant hit soon after making his debut in 2007, and has been one of the star goalkeepers in the country since then.
