Juventus set Ronaldo price as Jorge Mendes springs into life ahead of talks

Juventus will allow Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club this summer and won't be offering him a new contract any time soon, according to reports.

Ronaldo has been in Italy since 2018, having signed from Real Madrid in a deal worth £88million.

He was signed with the aim of helping Juventus win the Champions League for the first time since 1996.

Despite their dominance of Serie A, they've consistently fallen short in Europe, and crashed out of the Champions League again this week against Porto.

In the aftermath, it was reported that Juventus are set to rebuild their squad around younger players, with Ronaldo not having a long-term role.

And it has now been reported in Italy that Juventus will consider letting Ronaldo leave in the upcoming window.

Football Italia reports that Juventus will accept just £24m for the 36-year-old.

His contract is set to run out in the summer of 2022, and there are currently no talks over an extension.

Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, seems to have got to work already.

Reports suggest he's already talked to Real Madrid about a potential return to the Bernabeu.

Juventus CEO Fabio Patratici said on Tuesday: "Fortunately, there is still a year on Ronaldo's contract, so we have time to talk to him.

"That's not a priority right now."

Juventus' £24m asking price is based off his contract, and Juventus needing to avoid making a loss.

There's nothing to suggest they wouldn't negotiate and try to ask for more money, but £24m is the minimum for the cash-strapped Italian champions.
