'Lionel Messi Compilation Vs Biggest English Clubs Proves He Would Destroy The Premier League

Lionel Messi has enjoyed tormenting the Premier League's biggest teams in the Champions League as a compilation has highlighted him 'humiliating' and 'destroying' English clubs.

The 33-year-old Argentine superstar has played 34 matches against English sides and been on Barcelona's winning side on 18 occasions.

Messi might have suffered seven defeats to English sides, but the Barcelona captain has scored an incredible 26 times and picked up six assists in 34 matches.

Now, one compilation has showcased the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's stunning performances against England's elite clubs.

Messi's iconic performance against Arsenal features in the compilation as the Argentina captain scored an impressive four times against the Gunners.

Another standout moment includes the Barcelona talisman beating Dutch legend Edwin van der Sar with a rare header in the 2009 Champions League final against Manchester United.

"His haters say he can't play in [the Premier League]," one fan wrote.

While someone else posted: "And many idiots say he only performs against small teams. He singlehandedly tormented these big clubs."

A third argued: "And [people] say Messi can't play in the EPL because he only scores goals against small teams in La Liga... now, I'm not hating or anything, but one of the best players of [the] Premier League, [Eden] Hazard, can't even score against those small teams."

And a fifth added: "Messi has ripped a new one for every English side he played against and they say he can't play in the Prem."

Messi has been linked with a reunion with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City amid uncertainty surrounding his future.

United legend Wayne Rooney has insisted that he would love to see the Argentine forward play in the Premier League, saying that he is the "best player of all time."

The 35-year-old Derby County manager told talkSPORT last year: "Every day of the week [I would love to see Messi in the Premier League].

"I know he's getting a bit older but no one has ever seen a player like him [before].

"There's that debate of Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo and Messi just has everything. He can create goals, scores goals. He's the best player of all time.

"If he can come to the Premier League, whichever team it is, and I do believe it's only Manchester City or Manchester United -- I'd take Messi at United."
