'Liverpool Fans Angered By Gary Neville Calling Harry Kane "Cute" For Winning Penalty

Gary Neville branding Harry Kane as "cute" for winning a penalty did NOT go down well with Liverpool fans who say the same hasn't been said about Mohamed Salah this season.

Kane was fouled by Matty Cash inside the box with the Tottenham star converting the resulting penalty to secure a 2-0 win against Aston Villa.

But his antics to win the penalty accompanied with Neville's comment on commentary angered Liverpool supporters online.

The England captain appeared to let the ball run and invited the challenge from Cash with match referee Mike Dean pointing to the spot.

On commentary, Neville said: "It's cute from Kane, some won't like it."

The decision to award the penalty got Liverpool fans talking, but Neville's commentary tipped it over the edge as they called out the double standards - bringing up the treatment of Salah.

One Twitter user wrote: "Cute when it's Kane, cheating when it's Salah."

A second tweeted: "It is not 'cute' it is cheating. I've been watching football for over forty years and have never seen a worse cheat than Kane but the dishonest British media protects him."

A third added: "Cute from Kane? It's cheating. The protection the English players get in the media is embarrassing. Imagine the reaction if Salah did this."

While the Reds are struggling in the Premier League, Salah is enjoying a prolific campaign with 17 league goals to his name - only Kane has scored the same amount.

Amid another superb term for the Egyptian forward, he has been slammed for his supposed diving by fans and critics.

Though Liverpool fans feel he is being unfairly treated considering Kane's actions.
