Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho was left totally bemused when a reporter tried to question him about his club's partnership with Dulux.
The deal between the Premier League club and the paint supplier got off to a lumpy start on Thursday, after a rogue social media admin went off script.
The @DuluxUK operative started replying to Tweets with images of an "unused trophy cabinet" for sale and claiming the Dulux dog could do a better job in defence than some of Tottenham's players.
Sorry Spurs but I think the Dulux dog might be a gooner. pic.twitter.com/jdX1v5pGjO

The tweets were quickly deleted but not before they had spread across the internet - but apparently not on to Mourinho's timeline.
At Thursday's press conference, one reporter asked the Spurs boss about the deal by referring to the paint manufacturers' famous mascot. "I know you're a fan of dogs, do you like the old English sheep dog, your new sponsor?" he began.
“Are you a fan of the old English Sheepdog… your new club sponsor?” 😂

Cue a puzzled Jose doing the dictionary definition facial expression of 'bewildered' and turning to ask an aide, "What's that?"
"Dulux," continued the intrepid reporter. "Their logo is an old English sheepdog... they were unveiled today as a new paint sponsor. Just wondered whether you'd seen it and what you thought of it."
José doesn't even know who Dulux are lol he's thinking "WTF is this guy on about?" 😂 https://t.co/nGlIBeeOvY

As someone who clearly had not been following what we'll loosely term 'events', Mourinho was in no way helped by this explanation and just turned back to the press officer (who was presumably feigning a lack of knowledge).
"It's fine, leave it, you crack on!" finished the reporter, ending with a suitably bizarre sign-off to one of the weirdest questions Mourinho can have ever been approached with.

Perfect response to what has to be one of the worst questions ever asked in a press conference 😄

Mourinho does have his own Instagram account, which boasts almost two million followers. But he's clearly not a regular Twitter user, for which we cannot condemn him.
Presumably someone will fill Jose in about the fact that Tottenham's "first ever Official Paint Supplier" began dumping on the club via social media, hence this strange line of questioning.
Or they won't and the 'Special One' will forever be none the wiser.
Either way, let's all crack on.
We are delighted to announce @duluxuk, the nation’s number one paint brand, as our first ever Official Paint Supplier.#THFC ⚪ #COYS
