Roy Keane took a cheeky dig at Gary Neville's outspoken stance on the aborted European Super League via Instagram.
The former Manchester United right-back was one of the most impassioned critics of the controversial project as he slammed those behind it as "imposters" and called for the six Premier League clubs to be fined and docked points after the shock announcement.

Neville's long-term teammate Keane was also a critic, blasting the "greed" of the clubs involved. But he wasn't above complaining that Neville's stance had ruined his chance to come "come out of retirement" so as to join the Super League.
Having attended Salford City's 2-0 win over Mansfield this weekend in the company of Paul Scholes, Keane shared a picture of the two Man United legends on Instagram with a caption directed at G-Nev.
"Nice to catch up with Scholesy at the Salford game," wrote Keane. "Our plans for coming out of retirement to join the European Super League have been ruined by Gary Neville."
Roy Keane joking and bantering on a Sunday is arguably even crazier than the whole Super League project itself.
🗣 "It's an absolute disgrace."

Neville took it in good heart and responded with a series of laughing emojis.
The Sky Sports pundit was out of the most visible Super League critics as he and former Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher were widely praised for their unrelenting criticism of the planned competition, which was panned by fans and figures within football.

The project quickly crumbled just days after it was announced a week ago, as Manchester City and Chelsea announced their withdrawal, quickly followed by Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham.
AC Milan and Inter Milan soon pulled out, as did Atletico Madrid. That left only Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid of the founding 12 clubs still committed to the project.
Which means the Super League - and Keane's tongue-in-cheek comeback threat - are both on hold. For now.
