'The Premier League Clubs' Biggest Flops Of This Decade Have Been Named

Bebe, Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll have been named amongst the worst signings of the decade for Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.

TalkSPORT compiled the "most terrible buys" for each Premier League club across this decade, which would ultimately turn out to be "abysmal additions" to their squads.

Ex-Liverpool talisman Torres, who retired from football in the summer, completed a sensational £50m from the Reds to Chelsea in 2011.

But the 35-year-old Spaniard failed to replicate his impact at Stamford Bridge, despite winning the Champions League and Europa League with the Blues.

TalkSPORT said Torres "remained a shadow of his former self" and wasn't the same striker that "terrorised Premier League defenders at Liverpool."

Following Torres' departure to Chelsea, Liverpool splashed out £35m on Carroll and made him the biggest transfer for a British footballer at the time.

But the 30-year-old Newcastle striker failed to live up to his hefty price tag and was shipped out on loan to West Ham before he made the move permanent in 2013.

United splashed out £7.4m for Bebe, who arrived from Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2010 and turned out to be a major flop for the Red Devils.

Sir Alex Ferguson had only met the 29-year-old Portuguese midfielder the day before he arrived at Old Trafford.

And the recommendation to sign Bebe had come from his former assistant Carlos Queiroz.

Bebe's ill-fated spell at United ended with only seven appearances before he was shipped off to Benfica in 2014.
