'Chelsea Make Offer To Loan Edinson Cavani From PSG

Chelsea are hoping to bring in Edinson Cavani on loan from PSG for the rest of the season, and have already made an offer for the Uruguayan according to reports.

On Tuesday night the Blues let two leads slip against 10 men Arsenal and drew 2-2 but the biggest blow of the night may have been Tammy Abraham limping off with an ankle injury.

Frank Lampard's side are now in pursuit of a striker and according to the Times have already made a bid to take Cavani on loan until the end of the season.

The report claims that Chelsea will pay PSG a loan fee as well as covering the striker's £360,000-a-week wages, with the wages costing them £7.2 million alone.

Earlier this week the club's all time top scorer revealed he'd told the Ligue 1 champions he wants to leave the club in the January transfer window, having only started four games in the league this season to date.

However with his contract expiring at the end of the season the club don't want to let him go temporarily this window and would rather he was sold before he can move for free in the summer.

PSG reportedly want up to £23 million to sell the 32-year-old with Atletico Madrid having already had an £8.5 million bid rejected for the forward.

Speaking after the 2-2 draw with Arsenal, Lampard admitted that his side don't score enough, saying, "You can't say we will definitely sign a striker but we are looking

"If you don't score enough goals then you won't win enough games."

Talking about Abraham's injury he added, "I hope he's not (out for several weeks), but then if he is then yes, we do have the players to cope.

"But we can't finish.

"We get into the box and we could have had three or four goals today. We are having shots, having crosses and lots of 'ooh' moments for the crowd.

"But we have to be clinical. Do we need to put the ball in the back of the net more? Yes. That's clear. Our chance conversion is one of the worst in the league."

Jorginho gave the Blues the lead on Tuesday from the penalty spot, with David Luiz sent off for the Gunners against his former team in the incident, Gabriel Martinelli equalised in the 63rd minute for the visitors.

The home side went back ahead through Cesar Azpilicueta in the 84th minute but once again Mikel Arteta's side were level in the 87th minute from Hector Bellerin.

The Blues remain in fourth spot in the league but with their top scorer injured they're in need of extra reinforcements if they're to remain in the Champions League places.
