'Ezri Konsa Slumps To Floor In Post-Match Interview After Reporter Says Last-Minute Goal Isn't His

Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa was left "absolutely heartbroken" after a reporter broke the news that he didn't score the club's late winner against Watford.

Konsa was convinced he'd scored his first Premier League goal in the club's dramatic 2-1 win at Villa Park on Tuesday night.

And at first glance, it looked like the 22-year-old had found the net with a cracking strike in the 94th minute.

But to his disappointment, fellow defender Tyrone Mings, who was on the floor at the time, managed to get in the way and guide it past goalkeeper Ben Foster with a stray boot.

Konsa wheeled away in celebration but minutes later, his mood would soon dampen after a reporter informed him that he, in fact, wasn't actually the goalscorer.

After slumping to the floor, Consa simply said: "I'm heartbroken. Absolutely heartbroken."

He soon got himself up and joined teammate Mings in what turned out to be a brilliant post-match interview, as Mings said he was disappointed to have taken Konsa's goal away from him.

Despite the initial setback, the 22-year-old was soon joking about Villa's last minute goal on his official Twitter account.

"When you think you've scored your first goal for Villa. Fans were class as always." he said.

Aston Villa climbed up to 16th place in the Premier League after last night's victory, while Watford remain in the relegation zone.
