Cristiano Ronaldo fanboys wasted no time in aiming a dig at Lionel Messi after the Juventus star scored a hat-trick against Cagliari.
The Portuguese superstar started the new year with a bang by playing a starring role in his side's 4-0 victory over Cagliari on Monday.
He's on three goals for the year which is three more than Messi who fired blank for Barcelona against Espanyol on Saturday.
And Ronaldo fans were quick to point out that goal scoring stat by mercilessly taking to social media.
"Goals this decade: Cristiano Ronaldo - 3, Lionel Messi - 0. Choose your GOAT wisely," one social media user wrote.
A second tweeted: "Ronaldo already outdoing Messi this decade. My GOAT,"
A third tweeted: "Ronaldo started 2020 with a hattrick. Messi started 2020 with a disaster class."
A fourth added: "Year just started ronaldo 3-0 Messi."
Another wrote: "Seeing Ronaldo score a hatrick and getting an assist really makes me realise. Ronaldo>messi."
Ronaldo opened the scoring four minutes after the break before doubling his personal goal tally from the spot. He then completed his first Serie A hat-trick after calmly tucking away in the 82nd minute.
Juventus return to the top of the table with 45 points on the board, three points ahead of nearest rivals Inter Milan.
