Manchester United have sent scouts to monitor Lyon striker Moussa Dembele as well as Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to
Sky Sports.
Lyon and Lille recently faced off against each other during the French League Cup semi-final as Dembele opened the scoring for his side and also successfully converted during the penalty shoot-out to help his team reach the final of the competition.
United did not sign a striker last summer despite having let go of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
The Red Devils are in need of a new attacker this month, especially following the injury to Marcus Rashford, which is due to keep him out
until late this season.
The 22-year-old is United’s top scorer after having found the back of the net 14 times this season as well as registering four assists. His
absence will surely affect the Old Trafford giants’ goal output.
Reported United target Dembele has plenty of potential and has so far notched 16 goals from 30 appearances in all competitions for Lyon.
He will likely be keen to leave his current club in order to take his career to the next level.
Dembele would be a good signing for United and also fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s philosophy of investing in young talent.
France U-21 international Soumare also has plenty of potential and has been a first-team regular for Lille this season.
He would certainly help to increase the competition for places in the Red Devils midfield, something which they need at this point in time if they want to grow as a club.
