Peter Crouch has told Jose Mourinho that he's ready to return to Spurs, after the manager joked that's who he was going to sign to replace Son Heung-min.
Spurs were trying to sign a striker in the January transfer window after Harry Kane picked up an injury that could keep him out until the end of the season, but they were only able to sign wide player Steven Bergwijn.
Now the Premier League side find themselves in further trouble with the injury to Son, which may also keep him out for the season. Mourinho was asked about Barcelona being asked to sign an emergency replacement and said he wanted Crouch:
🗣 Jose Mourinho jokes he may be forced to turn to a familiar face at Tottenham!

And the former Spurs striker, who retired at the end of last season after a spell with Burnley, was quick to respond on social media, telling Twitter that he was ready to return.

Barca are in a very similar situation to the north London side with the La Liga champions having lost Luis Suarez to injury in January and spent the window looking for a replacement for the striker.
They were unable to find anyone and were going to have to make do until Ousmane Dembele picked up another injury and they were allowed to sign a replacement because of the rules in the Spanish top tier.
The Catalan giants look set to add Leganes striker Martin Braithwaite to their squad with the former Middlesbrough striker having an 18 million euro release clause.
Spurs position in the league was looking better after their win over Aston Villa, thanks to Son's last minute winner, and Chelsea's loss to Manchester United on Monday left them just one point behind the fourth place Blues.
The two sides meet in the league on Saturday in the early kick off with the race to make it into the top four heating up.
Can Spurs qualify for the Champions League next season without Kane or Son?
