Wilfried Bony, Jack Rodwell and Eliaquim Mangala were among Manchester City's signings during the Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches between 2012 to 2016.
And as James Robson points out, it's unclear when City breached FFP rules between 2012 to 2016 but the club did splash the clash on new talent including the likes of the aforementioned Bony and Rodwell, as well as MartÃn Demichelis and Scott Sinclair, to name but a few.

Jack Rodwell
City signed Rodwell for £12 million from Everton, but the midfielder failed to make an impact and made just 16 top flight appearances. He moved to Sheffield United during the January transfer window.
Maicon
The Brazilian right-back joined City in a transfer worth £3 million and lasted just one season before returning to Italy's Serie A with AS Roma.
Scott Sinclair
Sinclair penned a contract with City after a prolific spell at Swansea City. But he only made 13 Premier League appearances during his time at the club following his £8 million move.
Javi Garcia
Garcia joined City for £15.8 million. He enjoyed two seasons at the club. The Spaniard plies his trade at Real Betis.
Matija Nastasic
Nastasic swapped Fiorentina for City in an exchange deal with Stefan Savic. He managed two seasons before leaving for Schalke.
Jesus Navas
Navas completed a switch to City in a transfer reportedly valued at £14.9 million. He returned to his boyhood club Sevilla after four seasons at the Etihad.
Stevan Jovetic
City signed the striker for £22.2 million from Fiorentina. He's now at AS Monaco.
Martin Demichelis
City acquired Demichelis for £4.2 million. He made 76 Premier League appearances during his three seasons at the club.
Fernando
City signed Fernando in the region of £12 million. He lasted three seasons then joined Galatasaray.
Eliaquim Mangala
Mangala joined City for £31.8 million from Valencia. The Frenchman had a few loan spells away from the club before returning to Valencia in a permanent move.
Wilfried Bony
Bony changed Premier League allegiances after sealing a £25 million transfer from Swansea City. He secured a move to Saudi side Al-Ittihad last month.
