'Virgil Van Dijk Left Tomas Soucek Heartbroken After Not Swapping Shirts

Virgil van Dijk left West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek gutted on Monday night after not swapping shirts with him.

Liverpool came from behind to beat 'The Hammers' 3-2 on Monday night and tunnel cam footage from full-time showed the players embracing.

Loanee Soucek was quick to approach the Dutchman and can be heard asking, 'Virgil! Can I get your shirt?''

Van Dijk quickly responds with 'I've already given it to him,' and points to Soucek's teamate Pablo Fornals.

It capped off a miserable evening for the 24-year-old who left the pitch early in the second half with an injury.

Despite his injury, West Ham came very close to handing Liverpool their first Premier League defeat of the season.

'The Reds' took the lead in the first half through an early Gini Wijnaldum header.

But Issa Diop equalised three minutes later to show Jurgen Klopp's side they wouldn't have it their own way.

David Moyes' side shocked Anfield in the second half when Fornals put the London outfit ahead before the hour mark.

However, Liverpool's quality shone through and goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane gave Liverpool a hard earned victory.

The victory saw them equal Manchester City's record of 18 straight Premier League victories, an achievement Klopp never thought would be equaled.

"It's so special. The numbers are incredible, so difficult. I said we wanted to write our own stories, create our own history," Klopp told BBC Sport following the game.

"Obviously, the boys took that really seriously and that is all cool but just not too important at the moment.

"We are just in the situation and want to recover and prepare for the next game."

Liverpool haven't dropped points since October and are on course to win their first ever Premier League title within the next month.

"I couldn't have wished for a better position to go into these last 11 games," Klopp added. "I never thought it was possible but each one of [the victories are] really difficult."

When do you think Liverpool will be crowned Premier League champions?
