Liverpool are set to be confirmed as this year's Premier League champions even if the coronavirus ends the season early.
The Premier League has been suspended until April 3 at the earliest and many have questioned if the league campaign will resume.
But The Telegraph have reported that Jurgen Klopp's side are likely to be crowned champions no matter what as well as an interesting twist in terms of promotion.
The proposed plan is to promote current Championship top two of Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion and have next season be a 22 team league.
As a result, it means the 2020/2021 season would see five teams relegated from the Premier League.
It's also rumoured that next year's EFL Cup could be postponed for a season to allow for extra space in the fixture list.
There is currently no regulations for the Premier League to follow in relation to what happens if the season doesn't finish.
Premier League leaders Liverpool are currently 25 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table and are only two wins away from glory.
It's reported from a 'senior club executive' that there is little resistance to awarding 'The Reds' the title due to their huge lead.
FA Chairman Greg Dyke allegedly admitted on Friday that he doesn't think this season's Premier League will be completed.
While West Ham United vice-chairman Karen Brady thinks the season should be 'voided'.
"As games in both the Premier League and in the EFL are affected, the only fair and reasonable thing to do is declare the whole season null and void," Brady wrote in her column for The Sun.
"Who knows who would have gone down or come up if the games have not actually been played in full?
"A huge blow to Liverpool who might be robbed of their first title in 30 years.
"This will be discussed between the Premier League and the clubs next week at an emergency meeting."
European competition has also been left in limbo with many unsure on the course of action for the Champions League and Europa League.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed he was diagnosed with coronavirus on Thursday evening while Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi became the first Premier League player diagnosed.
Both have told fans they are currently on the road to recovery.
