Virgil van Dijk says he'd be "gutted" for Liverpool fans if they won the Premier League title behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Premier League has been suspended until April 4 following the worsening coronavirus pandemic.
Liverpool welcomed the decision to postpone the league and one of the club's main stars has now opened up on the worrying situation.
#LFC continues to implement the government’s advice on the coronavirus outbreak and welcomes today’s #PL statement to postpone all games, including @premierleague, academy and WSL fixtures in the best interests of players, staff and supporters.https://t.co/4817JTcG8r

The Dutchman says winning the coveted trophy without Liverpool supporters in attendance would be bittersweet.
"If we won it in an empty stadium and the fans weren't there, I'd be gutted for them," he explained.
"Obviously, if there are no fans at Anfield, then it will be a bit of a blow - no one wants to play games without the fans.
"Until a decision is made on how we go on from here, then we just have to deal with it. But when it happens, we are still bringing the title to our fans, definitely.
"We all have to be sensible and deal with it with common sense. If the authorities make that judgement, we just have to deal with it and accept it."
So as long as a further postponement isn’t required then #LFC’s next game will be Manchester City away on Sunday April 5. If that goes ahead then Klopp’s side would clinch the title if they win at the Etihad.

As it stands, Liverpool are scheduled to resume their remarkable league campaign on April 5 when they travel to Manchester to face title holders City.
And the Reds would clinch the title if they secured victory at the Etihad.
Liverpool's players, meanwhile, were involved in a training session at their training base at Melwood on Friday.
But Jurgen Klopp's squad are now having personal workouts at home after the club voluntarily suspended activity.
The German boss penned an open letter to Liverpool fans following the postponement of the Premier League.
