Arsenal and Everton 'battling to sign Celtic's Edouard in potential £35m deal'

Arsenal and Everton are both reportedly keeping tabs on prolific Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard and may attempt to seal a deal this summer.

Edouard has scored 27 goals in 45 games across all competitions for Celtic this season and attracted attention from several teams across the continent.

And according to Le10Sport, potential suitors would have to pay up to £35million to snap up Edouard.

The French striker joined the Scottish Premiership champions in July 2018 for a reported fee of £9million, having also spent the previous campaign on loan at Parkhead.

His lethal form in front of goal means that Arsenal and Everton would become embroiled in a tussle when the transfer window re-opens to sign Edouard, with Lille and Marseille hopeful of a swoop.

Edouard is one of the most coveted players north of the border for English outfits, and a substantial offer may entice Celtic to sell their prized asset.

The club, however, are understood to have begun initial steps to offer a contract extension to the red-hot ace - and view him as crucial in their attempts to clinch 10 titles in a row.

But Celtic also appreciate that Edouard's heroics have made him a target heading into the summer.

Everton have frequently visited Parkhead, and sent scouts to back-to-back games against Kilmarnock and FC Copenhagen in February.

But Arsenal may hope to edge into pole position with the future of club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remaining uncertain.

The striker has been touted to join either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, and reportedly believes that time is running out for him to clinch more silverware.

And according to reports, Alexandre Lacazette could be another of Arsenal's strike force to head for the exit door with Atletico Madrid eyeing up a move.
