Chile national team manager admits that Vidal could return to Italy in future

Chile national team manager Reinaldo Rueda has admitted that there is a possibility that Arturo Vidal could return to Italy in the future.

The experienced central midfielder has drawn link to Inter in each of the recent transfer windows but Inter have never managed to get a deal done for him.

Links have once again resurfaced ahead of the upcoming transfer window and Rueda has shared his hopes for what he would like for the 32-year-old, who has little over a year left on his current deal with the Blaugrana.

“I think he is very satisfied at Barcelona, the fans have welcomed him very well and I hope that wherever he goes he will be the protagonist he has always been,” Rueda, who has been in charge of the Chilean national team since 2018, remarked in an interview with Spanish news outlet Sport.

“As far as I know there is a possibility of returning to Italy, recently Borussia Dortmund was also very interested in him but there is nothing concrete and you have to have the patience to make a decision.”

Rueda also spoke on the kind of player that the former Bayern Munich and Juventus player is.

“He is an exceptional player. He showed it in Germany, Italy and now in Spain. He has character, good technique and a physical prowess too. He is a monster.

“He will always want to be a protagonit. He remains very anxious when he does not play continuously. He has always been used to playing a leading role. I am sure that he will evaluate what each club offers him.”

This season Vidal has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored six goals and provided three assists.
