Barcelona returned to training on Sunday morning after a brief winter break following victory over Real Valladolid on Tuesday night, but did so without Lionel Messi.
The team enjoyed four days off and Ronald Koeman allowed Messi to return to Argentina for Christmas.
The coach is now giving Messi extra time off, meaning that the captain won't rejoin the squad until after the match against Eibar on Tuesday at the Camp Nou.
After the clash with Jose Luis Mendilibar's side, Koeman will give another two days of rest to his squad on Wednesday and Thursday, with the squad resuming training on Friday at 17:00 CET.
Messi will be present for that session, the first of 2021, to prepare for Sunday night's clash against Huesca.
Koeman is hoping to have Ousmane Dembele available to face Eibar, but will still be without Sergi Roberto, Ansu Fati and Gerard Pique as they all have long-term injuries.
