Man Utd 'convinced they win the race for Sancho after secret talks with him'

Manchester United believe they have stolen the march to sign England star Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils are keen to strengthen their squad with the signature of the 20-year-old from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

Now The Sun have reported that the player and club have 'agreed almost every detail of a move to Old Trafford.'

It is believed that the length of Sancho's contract, his salary, bonuses and buyout clause have all been agreed to - though United must now agree a fee with the German side.

The forward is valued at £100m and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season following the coronavirus lockdown.

A fantastic season that has seen Sancho score 17 goals and provide 19 assists for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Champions League, has made him the hottest property in Europe.

The Red Devils are not the only club to have been linked with the talented youngster, with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Real Madrid both been linked with the winger.

Sancho joined Dortmund at the age of 17, after losing patience with his lack of game-time under Pep Guardiola.

His move to the Bundesliga sparked his career to life, and after three years away from home, Sancho is reportedly keen on a move back to England.

Dortmund would like to keep Sancho, who is contracted at the Westfalenstadion until 2022, but are resigned to the player's preference to leave this year.

The Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told Bild last month: 'Even before the coronavirus outbreak, we said that we prefer that Jadon stays with us.

'At the end of the day, however, you always have to respect what the player wants.'

Should Sancho join Manchester United for his expected value, it would break the Red Devil's transfer record which was set with the £89m signing of Paul Pogba in 2016.
