Jurgen Klopp was named League Managers Association 'Manager of the Year' on Monday night and he was presented the trophy by Sir Alex Ferguson, who delivered a lovely message.
The Liverpool boss beat last season's winner, Chris Wilder, into runners up spot, Wycombe Wanderers' manager Gareth Ainsworth and Leeds Untied's manager Marcelo Bielsa to claim the award.
Former Manchester United boss Fergie put all rivalry aside to congratulate his friend on winning the title and the award, and revealed that Klopp rang him at 3.30 am to tell him the Reds had won the league.
🗣"Your personality went right through the whole club and I will forgive you for waking me up at 3:30am to tell me you won the league" 🤣

After receiving the award, Klopp, who brought Premier League title success to Anfield for the first time after 30 years without it, was full of praise for Liverpool legendary managers who came before him.
However he also put club rivalry aside to send special thanks to his friend Sir Alex, and claimed that the first time they met was 'like meeting the Pope.'
🗣"The name is Sir Alex and I know it is not appropriate as Liverpool manager but I admire and love him, he was like meeting the pope" 🤣

The Reds' had the title wrapped up earlier than anyone else since the league's inception in 1992, in terms of games played, and though their form fell off towards the end there was little doubt that Klopp was the best manager this season.
Sir Alex, looking extremely good for his 78 years, also congratulated all three of the runners up on their achievements.
Bielsa returned Leeds back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years, after several near misses and last season's blown chance, the Argentine finally has the Yorkshire club back to where many believe they belong.
Wycombe boss Ainsworth also earned promotion for his club and they will play in the second tier for the first time in the club's history, having only joined the Football League in 1993.
Whilst Sheffield United could only finish ninth in the end, in their first season back in the top tier, many had predicted Wilder's team would go straight back down so the drop off in form towards the end of the season doesn't diminish from their incredible achievement.
