Thiago wasted no time in settling into Premier League life by breaking a league record in his first 45 minutes in a Liverpool shirt.
And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp finally landed his man last week as the Reds splashed out £20m (plus add-ons) to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich.
Thiago received his debut only two days after signing for Liverpool as he came off the bench at half-time in the Reds' 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Opta found that the former Bayern star broke the record for the most successful passes made by a player who played a maximum of 45 minutes.
Thiago completed a whopping 75 passes during his time on the pitch, which was more than any Chelsea player managed over the course of the entire match.
75 - Half-time substitute Thiago completed more passes (75) than any Chelsea player managed in the entire match. Since full passing data is available for the Premier League (2003-04), his 75 successful passes are the most by a player who played a maximum of 45 minutes. Control. pic.twitter.com/UvHfrw1ggN

Goals from Sadio Mane in the second half sealed an important 2-0 win for Liverpool over 10-man Chelsea.
Frank Lampard's side were reduced to 10 men after Andreas Christensen was dismissed shortly before half-time.
The under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga also endured a nightmare match as the Chelsea shot-stopper's pass was easily intercepted by Mane from only a few yards out.
Liverpool have won both of their opening Premier League matches of the season, while Chelsea have won one and lost one.
The Reds will take on Lincoln City on Thursday in the League Cup before resuming their Premier League campaign next week against Arsenal.
