Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was on the receiving end of a nasty foul by Oriol Romeu on his return to Southampton.
The midfielder who left Saints in the summer was on the end of a wild slide tackle from Oriol Romeu in the opening 10 minutes, which bent the Danish international's ankle and resulted in a free-kick and a booking for Romeu. Ouch.

Fortunately, Hojbjerg was able to get up and play on. But it's clear that he can expect no favours from his former teammates - a fact not lost by those following the game on Twitter.

The 25-year-old left Southampton in the summer for £15 million after four successful seasons on the south coast. The Sunday kick-off against his former club was his third consecutive start for Spurs, proving he's likely to be a key player in Jose Mourinho's plans.
That is, if he can avoid injury - which he was arguably lucky to do after Romeu's challenge slammed into his ankle. It came just a minute after Tottenham thought they had taken the lead through Harry Kane's well-taken volley - only for VAR to rule the goal out, Son Heung-min having been offside in the buildup.
Danny Ings then gave the Saints the lead just after half an hour. Meaning that Hojbjerg really did not enjoy the start to the game on his St Mary's return - and for a variety of reasons.
