Jamie Carragher's three-word statement of "Oh f**k off" has summed up reaction to a proposed European Premier League.
Sky News have revealed Manchester United and Liverpool are already in talks over joining, with a $6 billion [£4.6 billion] package being created to fund a start-up in 2022.
The concept of a 'Super League' has rumbled for years and despite the lucrative sums of money involved, fans aren't keen on the idea.
One of those is former Liverpool man and current Sky Sports pundit Carragher, who wasn't entertaining the idea at all.

He wasn't the only one to express his anger at the idea, which would see 18 top European teams play fixtures in midweek, between domestic games.
Football clubs won't realise that supporters in stadiums, rivalries, songs and playing teams not considered "elite" from week to week is what makes the sport so popular until they've made the jump and the damage is done.

Total mess.https://t.co/v6EQhPGtyh
Why are they trying every single week to ruin football somehow; new handball rule, VAR nonsense, Project Big Picture, European Premier League, just stop ffs pic.twitter.com/Z7kS5pvqV9

Seriously, if you’re a club owner or football financier who thinks a global health crisis is the perfect opportunity to rip up and reshape football to suit billionaires... you have no idea how much fans detest your concept. It will not go how you think. https://t.co/PVVEjsqrAx

Anyone who is in favour of a European Super League isn't a fan of Football.

Send tweet.
How many football fans want a European Super League/Premier League? The Champions League is more than enough and even then there are many games which don’t exactly whet the appetite.

Disgusting. This would be the end of my support for Liverpool Football Club.

I have 0 interest in a European Super League. Football is a business but it’s also the people’s game. This is a disgrace. https://t.co/QlZ0iMly2P
Teams from across Europe have been invited to the 18-team tournament and an official announcement may come later this month
The proposal is said to "potentially be the most important development in world club football for decades."
