'Ollie Watkins Scores Sensational First Half Hat-Trick As Aston Villa Go 4-1 Up Against Liverpool

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has scored a first half hat-trick against Premier League champions Liverpool in a sensational display.

Dean Smith's side have gone in at the break 4-1 ahead and it is all thanks to summer signing Watkins.

The former Brentford man opened the scoring inside four minutes after a mistake from Adrian allowed him to tap home.

Watkins then doubled his side's lead in the 22nd minute with a ferocious left-footed strike that flew into the top corner.

Liverpool fired back with a Mohamed Salah strike before John McGinn restored Villa's two goal advantage.

24-year-old Watkins then sealed his hat-trick with a flying header in the 39th minute.

Fans have reacted to Watkins' performance and they think he's already repaid his £28 million fee.

Villa have enjoyed a remarkable start to the season after sealing Premier League survival by the skin of their teeth last season.

The West Midlands outfit won their first two games against Sheffield United and Fulham respectively and are en route to their third straight win.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are missing a number of first-team players for various reasons.
