'Only One Club Voted Against The Controversial Pay-Per-View Service For Premier League Matches

Leicester City were the only Premier League club to vote against the controversial new pay-per-view model for matches, according to stunning reports.

The Premier League announced on Friday that all fixtures until the end of October would be made available for fans to watch live in the UK.

And Sky Sports and BT Sport have unveiled plans for new services that showcase extra Premier League matches, but they won't be part of existing customers' subscription packages.

Instead, fans will reportedly need to pay £14.99 to watch each Premier League match through the controversial PPV platform.

The Daily Telegraph's John Percy now reports that the Foxes were the only club from the Premier League to reject the PPV idea for matches.

The PPV model, which has sparked significant backlash on social media, is set to launch on 17th October.

The Premier League said in a statement: "The five matches per round not already selected will be made available to supporters on a pay-per-view basis, accessed via BT Sport Box Office and Sky Sports Box Office platforms.

"Clubs today agreed this interim solution to enable all fans to continue to watch their teams live.

"The Premier League has worked closely with Sky Sports and BT Sport to provide this arrangement and is grateful for their support.

"The agreement will be regularly reviewed in consultation with clubs and in line with any decisions made by Government regarding the return of spectators to stadiums.

"Football is not the same without supporters at matches. The Premier League and our clubs remain committed to the safe return of fans as soon as possible."
