Harry Redknapp believes Liverpool made a mistake by not signing Manchester United's Sergio Romero as a backup goalkeeper following Adrian's woeful display against Aston Villa.
Jurgen Klopp was thought to be in the market for a keeper after Liverpool's No.1 suffered a training ground injury which will keep him out of action for a reported four to six weeks.
But the German boss failed to bring anyone in on deadline day with Redknapp suggesting they missed a trick.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, he said: "You would have thought he (Romero) might have gone to Liverpool.
"Liverpool need a goalkeeper. They need a goalkeeper more than Everton.
"If Alisson is out for a while, it could be vital for Liverpool.
"They're going to need to make sure they have good backup because it sounds like he could be out for a long time."
Everton were also interested in signing Romero, though the league leaders eventually went onto sign Robin Olsen on a season-long loan from AS Roma.

Welcome, Robin! #EFC
Liverpool, who face the Toffees when they resume their campaign, will continue with Adrian between the sticks despite his underwhelming performance at Villa Park.
And the Spaniard could get plenty of minutes under his belt if Alisson is out for six weeks as Klopp claimed.
"We don't know exactly with this situation. It could have been worse with the injury, that's for sure," he said.
"We were slightly lucky but it's not like he can play against Everton."
Klopp added: "I don't want to put a timeframe on it... but four weeks is possible, six weeks more likely.
"But I don't know, we have to further assess this thing and that's how it is."
