Raul Jimenez 'set to make emotional return to Molineux for Spurs game'

Raul Jimenez is set for a return to Molineux for the first time since suffering a fractured skull with the Wolves star due to be in attendance for Sunday's game against Tottenham.

The Mexican forward, 29, picked up a very serious injury in November after a sickening head clash with David Luiz during Nuno Espirito Santo's side's win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Jimenez has been recovering well and The Telegraph reports that the striker will sit in a private box for the visit of Jose Mourinho's side in the Premier League encounter in the West Midlands.

The Wolves star has visited the club's Compton training base since sustaining the injury, joining his team-mates for breakfast on occasion, but has not yet been to a game.

It is also understood that Wolves wing back Jonny Castro Otto, a close friend of the Mexican's, will accompany Jimenez at the game, having been sidelined with a knee injury.

Jimenez's absence has been dearly felt at Molineux since he suffered his injury. Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence have looked to pick up the goalscoring burden but defeats to Burnley and Liverpool underlined the importance of Jimenez to Santo's side.

There is currently no time frame on Jimenez's return to professional football, with Wolves searching for a replacement in the January transfer window.

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has been linked with a move to Molineux next month, as have Valencia star Maxi Gomez and former Newcastle target man Soloman Rondon.

Fabio Silva has led the line in Jimenez's absence and despite his £35m price tag, the 18-year-old is thought to be one for the future rather than an immediate understudy for the Mexican.
