'Diego Costa's 2014/15 Highlights Show He Produced One Of The Best Debut Seasons In Premier League History

Diego Costa's first season in the Premier League was a memorable one, as he fired Chelsea to the title.

Costa had just come off a stunning season for Atletico Madrid in 2013/14, where Diego Simeone's side delivered the club's league title since 1996.

Atleti also reached the Champions League final, with Costa scoring 36 goals in all competitions.

Jose Mourinho, in his second season in a second spell at Chelsea, saw the bulldozing Spain forward as the man who could make the difference at Stamford Bridge and duly drafted him in for £32 million.

That deal, along with the shrewd capture of Cesc Fabregas, brought Mourinho's third Premier League in West London.

Costa was well and truly unplayable from the moment he made his first start against Burnley at Turf Moor and hit seven goals in his first four Premier League games.

Always bringing fireworks whenever he played, Costa played on the edge and caused havoc for opposition defenders.

His power and physical presence gave Chelsea a perfect focal point for the rest of the team to play off and Costa was a stone-cold killer in front of goal, bagging 20 goals in his first season in the English top flight.

He also scored the second goal in the League Cup win over Spurs at Wembley, further cementing his place as a player for the clutch moments.

Costa's highlights for that season have been collated in a 12 minute video that is well worth your time:

Costa would then fire Chelsea to another league title two years later when he hit 21 goals for Antonio Conte's 2016/17 title-winners before eventually falling out with the Italian and ending up being sold back to Atletico after months of limbo.

In December, the 32-year-old had his Atleti contract terminated by mutual consent and is still searching for a club.

We hope someone snaps him up sooner rather than later because it's common knowledge that there's never a dull moment when Diego Costa is on a football pitch.
