Footage of referee Chris Kavanagh making a decision at the VAR monitor following the collision between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains a big talking point on social media.
Everton walked away from Anfield with all three points in Saturday's Merseyside Derby after a historic 2-0 win.
An early goal from Richarlison gave Carlo Ancelotti's side the lead and despite Liverpool creating a number of chances throughout, they looked fairly comfortable in large spells.
That being said, a penalty decision in the 83rd minute has still left plenty of Liverpool fans furious. In fact, it's the actions of referee Chris Kavanagh that have angered fans most.
Honestly I do a better job of pretending to read the Nando’s menu before ordering than Chris Kavanagh has done pretending to look at that screen there.

In the final minutes of the game, Everton broke away on the counter-attack when striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was through on goal after a perfectly-weighted through ball from Richarlison.
The England international was denied by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson with his first attempt but the Brazilian handed him a second bite of the cherry after parrying it into his path.
Before Calvert-Lewin could take a shot, however, Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared to trip the forward over by accident.
"I'm not sure what he's supposed to do!?" said Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher

Following the incident, many noticed how Kavanagh didn't spend a great deal of time at the VAR monitor to assess the challenge.
Here's just some of the reaction from social media.
Didn’t even wait around for the angle that shows DCL running into Trent’s head and falling over.

Chris Kavanagh didn't even get chance to watch the replay on the VAR monitor before he just walks away 🤣🤣🤣

Standard of officials in this country is shambolic - European refs are far superior these days, which is frightening because they're shambolic aswel 🤣
Thoughts on Kavanagh's performance in the Merseyside Derby on Saturday night?
