Tottenham midfielder Ndombele opens the door to PSG move, spoke to Mbappe

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has opened the door to a PSG move in the future and revealed he has regularly spoken to Kylian Mbappe about the possibility.

The 24-year-old has been one of Spurs' best players this season for Jose Mourinho after a disappointing first campaign in north London.

Ndombele joined from Lyon in 2019 for £54million but is clearly interested in the possibility of moving back to Ligue 1 at some point.

He told Telefoot: 'I'm a boy from the Paris region. Wearing the Paris jersey one day? Why not - but today I'm in Tottenham, and it's going well.

'I spoke with Kylian about a possible coming to PSG. Two or three years in a row we discussed it.

'It didn't happen and today at Tottenham it's going well, but why not in the future?'

Ndombele is hoping his club form this season will earn him a call-up to the France squad for the European Championship.

He added: 'Of course I miss the France Team. As a competitor we want to be one of the best.

'The European Championship remains a goal in the back of my mind. If I do well at club level, why not be called up?'

Barcelona had been interested in Ndombele last summer and the player himself admitted he wanted to leave after just one season with Spurs.

'My first season was tough, I questioned myself a lot, now the page is turned', he told TF1.

'It is true that at a certain moment I wanted to leave, I didn't feel in the right place. I told them I wanted out. They didn't want me to go.'

Daniel Levy, Tottenham chairman, put his foot down and it proved to be the intelligent decision with Ndombele reversing his fortunes.

Mourinho's side have impressed at points this season but after two consecutive defeats now find themselves in sixth place.
